Unfortunately the RPG mechanics are almost entirely gone, it's the most illusion-of-choicey of the 3, and I still hold the opinion that giving the PC a voice and well-established backstory is one of the biggest mistakes in the franchise's history. You'll be looking up and down more than the other games, using jumping and jetpacks much more, and it pays off I think. Better world, worse characters and writing. Also probably the buggiest of the games, including a couple game breaking ones (mostly involving quest orders, great khans.) Exclusive shade of brown on everything.ДЇallout 3 is sort of the opposite of New Vegas for me. Not to mention it's such a small place split into several loading cells. For a city that is supposed to be a bustling oasis so successful that it is basically its own independent nation, it sure is dead and boring. But each game has its own unique problems. Obviously each of them can be very buggy messes (4 being the least buggy in my experience) and have dev teams that would rather let modders do all the work than do it themselves, after all, Skyrim isn't going to port itself. New Vegas is the king of characters and dialogue in my book, 3 has a great world, and 4 has the best overall gameplay.
